The impasse between MenzGold and its customers has reached a stalemate as the aggrieved customers have intensified their agitations on the streets and in the media with the hope of getting their locked-up funds released.
While several people have warned the government of the day not to contemplate using the taxpayers’ monies to settle the aggrieved customers due to their recalcitrance when the Bank of Ghana and the Security and Exchange Commission cautioned them against doing business with Nana Appiah Mensah’s MenzGold.
Former President John Dramani Mahama has jumped on the bandwagon with a pledge to the aggrieved customers of the embattled gold vault company to retrieve their monies for them.
The former president, in a tweet on his Twitter handle, has implored the aggrieved customers to ensure that he wins the 2020 elections and that would guarantee them their monies which have been locked up since September 2018.
This is what the former President tweeted;
“Bring me back in 2020, and I will get your monies back. I disagree with the assertions being made by some in Gov’t that MenzGold customers are greedy. They are not!”
This tweet from the former President comes as very shocking as he is virtually promising to rely on the purse of the nation to sort these customers out.
Former President Mahama, by inference, is giving an indication that if given another opportunity to lead this country, monies belonging to taxpayers will be subjected to the same reckless and profligate manner like he did when he was at the helm of affairs between 2009 and 2016.
