Ayawaso West Wuogon dominated the media landscape for reasons not so savory to be hyped.
Well-meaning Ghanaians were visibly unimpressed and expressed disquiet over the matter. The clergy, civil society organizations and individuals well respected in our society all raised eyebrows in the wake of what happened at Ayawaso West Wuogon.
The NDC, though have no moral justification to be berating the governing party over the incident, waded into the issue with their crocodile tears.
Their pretentious wails could well be deciphered. They asked for a probe into the matter just like the clergy and civil society organizations had done.
A listening President Akufo-Addo, having heard the concerns of Ghanaians, has instituted a three-member commission with legal luminary Kofi Abotsi as secretary to, among other things, find out what triggered the violence, the perpetrators and to suggest ways to deal with the issues detected.
This quick response to the cries of the people has been widely hailed by many Ghanaians. President Akufo-Addo is being praised for assembling these brainy and accomplished individuals to dig into the violence in Ayawaso West Wuogon.
The NDC, obviously hypnotized by the decision of the President to tackle this matter head-on and the enormous expertise the commission members have decided to find non-existent faults with the Commission, its composition and how it was formed.
According to the leading members of the opposition party, all the members of the Commission are sympathetic to the cause of the ruling NPP, and cannot, therefore, be trusted to do an honest job.
Asiedu Nketia, Peter Boamah Otukonor, Inussah Fuseini and other top guns of the party have all alluded to this assertion that the members are all NPP and will not be able to come out with the desired outcomes.
The Justice Emil Short-led team consists of men and a woman with high integrity. They have their reputations to protect and would never do any shoddy job.
Maybe they expect Nana Ato-Dadzie, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, Joseph Yammin, Tsatsu Tsikata, and Betty-Mould Iddrisu to be made the constituents of this Commission of Enquiry.
A child that is bent on disturbing the mother would ask for the head of a crab before he will end his cries knowing very well that nowhere can a crab with a head can be located. The NDC is up to no good. Ghanaians have seen through their veiled attempts to make the country ungovernable.
