An International Commodities Company Invites Job Applications

An international commodities company is seeking to employ a young, energetic, and highly motivated Trade Expert in Agricultural Products.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Some of the key responsibilities of the role will include the following:

• Firstly, Identification of suitable markets, taking into account logistics, shipping, and official trade relationships
• Secondly, Analysis of import and export trends and readiness for the target products
• Thirdly, Reviewing export support infrastructure
• Moreover, the Identification of specific destination markets for niche/high-value products
• Afterward, Identification and recommendation of value chain partners
• Finally, Conducting estimations of projected export volume

Requirements:

• A minimum of HND or 1st Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business administration, and International Trade
• At least three (3) years of relevant work experience
• Significant private sector experience in the import and export of agricultural products (crops, fruits, and vegetables) in and outside Ghana,
• An active network of contacts in international agriculture trading (i.e., shipping, quality control, importers)
• Excellent professional knowledge of global trends and practices in agricultural trade
• Prior experience in engaging with policymakers and government organizations on trade policy.
• Prior experience in trading to/from developing country context
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Good written and verbal communications skills in English;
• The ability to communicate in French and local languages will be an advantage.
• Demonstrate ability to organise, supervise and monitor in a participatory approach
• Good working knowledge of MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
